Community Outreach

At Shiloh United Methodist Church, we are committed to giving back to our local community and beyond. We live out our faith through acts of service and by giving back. We believe that Jesus has called us to be a beacon of light for those in need. Furthermore, we give back to our community in a variety of ways throughout the year and welcome new ideas for community outreach.  Below we've listed some of our more consistent programs throughout the year, however, this list is not all-inclusive of everything we do each year.

Micah's Backpacks

Ready for School

Shiloh UMC participates in the Micah's Backpack program.   This program provides food to public school students who suffer from food insecurity.   The church collects food to send home to children each Friday so they have food for the weekend.

Holly Place

We provide donations to Holly Place throughout the year.  Holly Place was established to target low-income Seniors with limited resources who could not afford alternative care systems or private homes. The 24-hour staff provides quality care while endeavoring to establish a home-like setting for our Seniors in need of assisted living services.

Walking Aid

School Supply Giveaway

Every year Shiloh UMC hosts a School Supply Giveaway to help families prepare for the upcoming school year.  Supplies are collected by members of the church.  The entire community is invited to attend the giveaway.

Operation Christmas Child

Shiloh launched their Samaritan's Purse OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD PROJECT in 2011.  It is a heartbreaking reality, millions of boys and girls around the globe live in difficult circumstances and are in desperate need of hope.  Whether they are slum dwellers in Calcutta or orphans in Johannesburg, children long to know that they are loved.

Operation Christmas Child is one way you can make a difference in a young person's life.  Since 1993, this Samaritan's Purse project has shared the Good News of God's love with hurting children through the simplest of gifts – shoeboxes!  Filled with school supplies, toys, and personal times that are packed by caring people, these boxes help introduce children to Jesus Christ.
