Operation Christmas Child
Shiloh has launched their 2011 Samaritan's Purse OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD PROJECT in partnership with Bethel Believers Sunday School Class of Bethel United Methodist Church in Chewsville. It is a heartbreaking reality, millions of boys and girls around the globe live in difficult circumstances and are in desperate need of hope. Whether they are slum dwellers in Calcutta or orphans in Johannesburg, children long to know that they are loved.
Operation Christmas Child is one way you can make a difference in a young person's life. Since 1993, this Samaritan's Purse project has shared the Good News of God's love with hurting children through the simplest of gifts - shoeboxes! Filled with school supplies, toys, and personal times that are packed by caring people, these boxes help introduce children to Jesus Christ. Local believers follow up with evangelistic programs, and many precious boys and girls later receive Jesus at their Savior. Click here for more information on the Operation Christmas Child program.
This is a program that addresses children's hunger issues of low income families with elementary school age children. Volunteers at Shiloh Church fill 5 backpacks weekly. The backpacks are given to Fountaindale Elementary School and sent home with five children every Friday. The backpacks are filled with food for the weekend when children are at home and may not have healthy food choices or in some cases, any food at all. The backpacks include two dinners, two lunches and two breakfasts. To learn more about this wonderful program please visit their website. kpacks to the students.
